Haha. I don't consider mine one! Still has 212k miles on it and it doesn't have any of the problems he describes.

Glad to hear yours is in good shape!
I had heard bad things about these cars. Wasn't this the first Chryslerfied Benz though?

The 2002+ models are immensely better. These cars had some issues, but the issues that are arising now are mostly because of owner neglect. These cars may be sort of cheaply built inside but the drivetrain is very, very good. Some guy on the forum I'm on says he has 470k on his car with no major issues.
Not sure if it was the first one, but it was one of the first for sure. You could see the reduction in quality in the plastics.

(these cars have a really bad reputation, I'll agree with you there. In my experience with this car in my ownership which has been for around two years, I haven't had a single major failure, nor has the car left me stranded. I trust it :P)
